St. Luke's Peckham Weekly Newsletter 7

Weekly Newsletter 7

Greetings to everyone, we are in the  4th week of the Easter season and the 7th week of lockdown. I have been speaking to several of you over the past few weeks, and it is clear people are settling into the Lockdown, but still really miss meeting up with each other in person. Whilst it is difficult, we all know it has to be. From a personal point of view, I am at a stage where I am getting used to the lockdown, and in some ways enjoying speaking to people on the phone, on Zoom, etc, which did not always happen as much before. So some good is coming out of the lockdown.

For those who attended the Zoom service of Holy Communion on Sunday, or have listened to it afterwards, will have heard that my service was on what it means to have abundant life, and how for each of us it maybe something different. I’m hoping that despite the difficulties of living with Coronavirus around us, that you are able to live life to the best you can right now. Maybe not being able to do all you want, but hopefully you have all you need. As usual this Newsletter, will provide links where you can find resources for help in a variety of ways.

ST LUKE’S REGULAR GIVING

We are thankful to all of you who donate to St Luke’s regularly, however, at this time it is just as important to continue your regular giving even if you cannot attend the Church building for worship. I would encourage those of you who normally donate via the collection plate or envelope to consider setting up a Standing Order, so that even when you are unable to attend you will still be contributing financially to the church, so we can continue the work in the community to build God’s kingdom. If you do wish to consider this form of donating the account details are:
ST LUKE’S PCC
ACCT:32196202. SORT:60-16-16
Thank you for enabling the work of St Luke’s in the Parish to continue.

DIOCESE OF SOUTHWARK FOOD ACCESS RESPONSE

Love thy neighbour. We are called to love our neighbour. There has been such an outpouring of support for one another amid these very difficult times when the Coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic is robbing people off their lives and others of their livelihoods. We are all caring for one another in many ways: from that phone call for a chat with a person who is self-isolating and might be living on their own, to those much-needed food parcels, all the way to sign-posting information to access such support.

The information provided in this resource encompasses assistance offered in the geographical area covered by the Diocese of Southwark, which covers South London and part of East Surrey.  We have done our utmost to include all already existing information on available support outside the scope of food banks in this resource.  Please bear in mind that we are in an evolving situation and some information in this document will become out of date and new information added.
We aim to update this resource as regularly as we can - download the full Food Access Response document, or visit the link below for information divided by borough. Food Access Response
